Sophie Valerio is an autistic student artist. Her designs feature bleeding hearts, which look like tiny hearts dripping, and skeleton flowers, whose petals turn transparent in the rain—both strange but beautiful blooms.
Growing up, Sophie didn’t know she was autistic. She often had movies playing in her head and struggled to express herself in words. Today, she embraces her neurodivergence as the source of her vivid creativity and dreams of telling stories through animation—stories where people with disabilities take the lead.
